When everything is bad, we blame ourselves for not making a backup on time ... "

Here is such an allegory as close to life as never before. Usually, any problems and breakdowns with the phone (as well as with the PC) arise suddenly, and most of them cannot be foreseen. Accidentally knocked or dropped the device - and that's it, write it down ...

Easy and fast data backup on Android

Copy of contacts

Life hack: the most reliable way to save contacts is to rewrite them in a notepad ... 😊

Option 1

Perhaps the most reliable way to keep your contacts intact and safe is to sync them with Google's servers. To enable this option, you need:

  • open phone settings, section:"Settings / Accounts / Google";
  • if you do not have your own Google account, you will need to go through a simple registration procedure;
  • then move the slider opposite "Contacts" to the right (i.e. on) and wait until the notification appears "Last sync ..." .

Contacts are synced

Actually, that's it! Now all your contacts will periodically be saved in auto-mode. If the phone is lost (or replaced), then after logging into your account on the new device, the contacts will be automatically loaded into the device's memory.

Conveniently!?

Option 2

It is also a very reliable option to save the contact file to an SD card. This is done with the help of specials. the export wizard that comes with Android.

To launch it, you first need to open the address book, click on the "three dots" and select the item in the settings "Import Export" ... See the example in the screenshot below.

Import / Export of contacts. Android 9.0

Then select the item Export to storage , indicate where the contacts will be copied from (for example, from the phone memory, see the screen below), mark the necessary contacts and press the button "Export" .

Saving contacts to SD card

Actually, you just have to check if the file was saved to the SD card "00001.vcf" (this is the default name). Of course, it is better not to carry the SD-card with this file in the phone, but to put it in a safe place (otherwise, if the phone disappears, the backup will also disappear).

Contacts file saved

Important: to restore contacts - you will need to do the opposite. Those. connect an SD card with a file (with contacts) to a smartphone, go to the contacts log and activate the function import ...

Copy of photos and videos

Option 1

The simplest option is to periodically copy everything to a computer or a spare SD-card (which is at home and does not "travel" with the device).

But I don't really like this option, because over time, this all gets bored, forgotten, and as evil - at the right time there will be no fresh backup.

Option 2 (auto-mode) 👌

It is much more convenient to set up auto-copying of all photos and videos to a cloud drive once (I am impressed by Yandex drive). What are the pros:

  • files are uploaded to it automatically;
  • files on the cloud drive can be viewed from any device with Internet access;
  • it is reliable enough;
  • if you lose your phone, access to the disk (and therefore to the photo) is restored in a couple of minutes.

Using Yandex Disk is very simple: after installing the application on your smartphone, open its settings and enable auto-uploading of photos and videos (you can also specify in this section when to download - only via Wi-Fi or via Wi-Fi + mobile Internet) ...

Auto upload photos and videos - Yandex disk settings

Viewing the same photos on a Yandex disk even on a phone is quite good: they can be sorted by date, albums, etc.

Sort photos by creation date

PS

As for the installed applications, as a rule, they are all automatically reinstalled on another smartphone after logging into your Google account.
