And in my opinion, in our century it is wrong to completely forbid a child to work at a PC and use the network. It is much more important to configure the computer so that it does not accidentally stumble upon something "superfluous" ... 😉
Actually, in this article I want to give several ways that will help you make the Internet safe for your child by restricting access to various adult sites.
And so that you yourself can visit any sites (and install any applications), and the child (without knowing the administrator password) could only do what you allow.

Ways to limit the Internet for a child

I must note that the modern Windows 10 operating system has become quite advanced in this regard: its arsenal already has the ability to easily and quickly restrict children from various "dangers" on the Internet (moreover, no additional programs will have to be installed).

I'll show with my example how this can be configured ...
1) The first thing you need to do is go to Windows settings (either through the "START" menu, or just press the Win + i combination) and open the section on setting up accounts. See example below. 👇

2) Then open the tab "Family and other people" and press the button "Add family member" .

3) Then note that you can create different accounts : we need to choose an option for the child. See screenshot below. 👇
If he does not have an email, then you can immediately create it, as I have in the example below.

4) For registration of mail, almost nothing needs to be specified: the desired writing of the e-mail and the birthday of the child are enough (see example below 👇).

After registration, you will need to agree to the terms and press the button "Further" (I omitted this step, because it is not informative).
5) If everything went as it should, you will see that a child account has appeared, who is allowed to log in to the system.
But that's not all, it is necessary to configure the system in such a way that he has the "appropriate rights". To do this, under the account there is a link "Manage family settings over the Internet."

6) In the settings, you can specify the time of using the device and restrict the launch of certain applications, prohibit (allow) visit certain websites, etc.

Note that setting these parameters is quite simple: you just change the "switches" and specify the required parameters (no complicated admin commands!).

By the way, the Windows 10 developers even added an option like child's age (the system will prohibit applications, games, multimedia that do not correspond to the specified age).

And so, all accounts have been created, all settings are specified, now let's see how it works.
After turning on the PC / laptop, you will be presented with a choice of account: your "old" and our new created (for the child). See example below.

If you have created a limited account for your child, it is recommended that you put a password on your account. Otherwise, he will come under you and he will have administrative powers ...
Login to Windows
Logging into a child's account, opening a browser and entering an adult search query, you won't be able to find anything ... Windows 10 will simply hide this information, filtering and restricting content. Quite good, in my opinion.

Note that this method is not a panacea, experienced users can bypass this protection without any problems.
However, our task was not to fight hackers ... In my opinion, for initial protection - not a bad option at all.

Protection in antivirus software (for example, Kaspersky)
Many modern antiviruses have a special module parental control ... In my opinion, one of the best in this regard (and most importantly, very flexible and easily customizable) is Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Actually, from it I will give a few screenshots.

The antivirus setup itself is very complex:
- you can specify the time of work for the PC;
- which programs are allowed to run and which are not;
- fine-tune access to various websites;
- you can add various filters and "stop words" (if a stop word is found on a web page, the page will simply be blocked and the child will not see it).
Setting parameters is very easy: the antivirus is in Russian, all parameters are conveniently "sorted" into sections.
For example, in the section "A computer" you can specify the allowed working hours (including weekends), break hours, total working hours, etc.

I would also note separately the control over the Internet:
- you can limit the working time;
- enable safe search;
- choose what to allow for downloading and what to prohibit (for example, you can prohibit the download of programs / games);
- specify the categories of websites that are prohibited from viewing.

I will add that you can block not only sites for adults, but also those that mention alcohol, tobacco, obscene language, religious teachings, etc.

As for the restriction of the Internet - then in part, it can also be "filtered" using the settings firewall and router .
True, I will immediately note that in this regard they are rather "poor". As a rule, it all boils down to blocking specific URLs (sites), or to a whitelist (when all web pages are prohibited, except for the ones you have opened).

In addition, it is more difficult to bypass such a lock in a router than the same security settings in Windows itself. For example, even if a child connects to this router from a tablet / phone * via Wi-Fi, he will still not get access to prohibited sites ...

In them, by default, all sites for adults are blocked, short paid numbers are disabled. In some cases, you can add. set your limits.
