How to clear the cache on Android // popular question

I welcome everyone!

Quite often I am asked questions about cleaning the phone from all sorts of "garbage" (of course, we are talking about the cache). About him, in fact, will be discussed in today's article ...

In general, the cache is temporary files generated during the operation of certain applications. They are designed to speed up the phone somewhat and make it more responsive.

However, over time, when the cache grows (or its update starts to occur incorrectly), brakes and all sorts of errors appear on the phone (this is especially noticeable in browsers when some of the site elements are not displayed). To eliminate this, you have to clear the cache ... 👀

👉 Note

Some people mean by the word "cache" only temporary files and browsing history in the browser (and there is some confusion about this). In fact, of course, other applications also have a cache ...

Below we will look at clearing the cache both in the browser, and in general - in general ...

Cache clearing methods

Option 1: via a built-in function (for example, in the Chrome browser)

So...

In most cases cache it is required to uninstall for any one application, and often it turns out to be a browser (the same Chrome).

This is very simple to do: just start the browser itself, call the settings menu and open the item "History / Clear history" . 👇

History (Chrome browser)

After, indicate the time range (usually, it is required "During all this time" ), put a checkmark in front of "Cookies", "Cache", "Images" (etc.), and click on the button "Delete data"  (👇).

Deletion (cache, cookies, history ...)

👉 By the way, the cache of any application on Android can be deleted by going to the list of all installed applications, select the one you need and in the properties click on the button "Clear cache" (👇 in the example below I have a Yandex browser).

Option 2: using preinstalled software

Modern versions of Android have built-in tools for optimizing and cleaning the phone's memory from junk files (which includes the cache).

To use them, as a rule, you need to open the phone settings and go to the section "Memory" ... Then click on the item "Cache data" . (👇)

Then a clarifying question of the system will appear: "Are you sure you want to delete the cache data?" ... The question is resolved ?! 👌

All applications cache will be deleted OK

By the way, in more modern versions of phones / tablets there is a special. section in settings "Device maintenance" .

With the built-in optimizer, you can "limit" the use of the battery, and clean the system, and configure the security of the device.

Option 3: with the help of special. "Optimizers"

Built-in options are fine, of course, but they don't always do as well as third-party products. Besides the cache, the phone's memory can "chop off" old APK-files, various temporary and residual files, and other "garbage".

In addition, not all versions of the phone software have options for clearing the cache.

And in this regard, it is much more effective to use specials. applications: AMC Security, Clean Master, CCleaner, etc. I am more impressed by the first one (I leave a link to the article with the best tools below).

If we take AMC Security, then everything is simple here: after launching the application, press the button "Start" and you will immediately see how many junk files you have in memory.

In my case, there were 477 MB! (And this is after the work of the standard Android "optimizer" ...).

477 MB for cleaning! Continue (working with AMC)

The cleaning itself takes a dozen or two seconds, fast! The rest of the time, you can close the application and not use it in any way (and start cleaning only as needed (depending on the frequency and nature of the device use)).

In less than a minute, the memory was cleared

There is not enough space on the phone (Android), not enough memory. What can be done?

Good luck!
