How to troubleshoot APPCRASH error step by step

1) Updating system libraries

In the overwhelming majority of cases, the cause of problems and errors with the game is the lack of an up-to-date version of system libraries (we are talking about DirectX, Net Framework, Microsoft Visual C ++). By the way, it is not uncommon when the repacks with the game contain "their" modified versions of these libraries, which incorrectly "fit" into the system, and problems begin ...

Important!

2) Reinstalling the application (checking the integrity of the files)

Another common cause of this error is damage to the integrity of some game files (program being launched). For example, they could have been corrupted by a virus, some update / addition (mod), etc.

Therefore, the advice is quite simple and trivial:

2. then try downloading this application (game) again and reinstalling it (you can try the excellent version, if any).

3) Check: there is no Cyrillic in the folder name

The point here is that many users like to name their folders in Russian (there is nothing wrong here, but some applications do not recognize the Cyrillic alphabet, and if it is in the file path, they simply crash).

An example is presented below (took one of my old games): D: \ Games \ Rally Championship Extreme ... If you have Russian characters in your path, try creating a new folder (with an English name), and reinstall the game into it.

4) Incompatibility (conflict) of drivers

This primarily concerns drivers for audio and video cards. If they are not updated (for example, they are too old for this game), or they conflict, then various "problems" are possible.

In general, ideally, you need to download several versions of video drivers from the official website of your video card (and if you have a laptop, then from the website of the laptop manufacturer). Then install them one by one and test the operation of the device.

If you are trying to run a too old game on modern Windows 10 (say), then it may either not start at all, or give various errors ...

1. install another Windows system on your PC (the second, older one, in which this game works);
