If you want to see what a site or person's profile looked like in social. networks earlier (for example, 3-5 years ago) - you can use the web archive site. In its search box, you only need to specify the URL of the page that you need.
Further, if something is found, you will see a calendar with a proposal to select a date. In my case (on the screenshot below), there were 9 captures (9 captures). I opened a page dated October 25, 2016.

Find out the IP address through a message in the mail
If you received a letter by e-mail, then you can find out not only the e-mail of the sender (and scan it through social networks and messengers), name and surname, but also the IP address (and use it to find out the city where the person is located in given time). All this together can be useful for a more advanced search.
To do this, open the original letter (i.e. its code). How to do this on Gmail (from Google) is shown in the screenshot below.

Try to search for a person in chat apps (at least check all the most popular ones). Often, many do not use social media. networks (especially older people), but they almost certainly speak on Skype! Therefore, searching in them can give very good results!

4) When searching, start a document (for example, Word) and enter into it all the nuggets of information that you managed to collect. Many do not even imagine how such a "feature" can facilitate the search.
5) If you have the phone number of the person you are looking for, try to transfer funds to him or pay some of his receipts (note: you don’t need to pay for it, just start the payment procedure, but do not make a payment).
