Apps are not downloaded from the Play Market on Android

Good day!

Most novice users know only one place where you can download applications to your phone - this is the Play Market ✌ (which is preinstalled on Android). And if applications from there are not loaded, this is a real tragedy ...

In general, there are a lot of reasons why the Play Market can start to fail (both software errors caused by the user and due to circumstances beyond his control). In this post I will give some basic tips on what you can do with your phone if downloading applications from the Play Market stopped working.

Note:

1) this note is relevant for those cases when after clicking on the "Install" button nothing happens to you (ie no error messages appear, etc.);

2) When a specific error appears, it is recommended that you first search for instructions on how to solve this particular problem.

What to do if applications from the Play Market are not downloaded

Check network connection, date and time

This is the most common and most popular advice when this problem occurs. The same time can easily get lost, for example, due to an incorrectly set time zone.

Date and time, time zone

Also pay attention to the work of the network: do you open web pages in the browser, do other applications access the Internet (note: even if your icon in the corner of the screen shows that everything is OK with the connection - this may be far from the case) ...).

Delete cache and restart your phone

Quite often, various errors with applications (examples: notifications are not received, updates are not downloaded, etc.) occur due to the "wrong" cache (temporary files). Therefore, after checking the time zone and network performance, it is almost always recommended to reset the cache (in this case, from the Play Market).

To do this, just open the list of applications, select the one you need from it and click on the button "Clear cache" (example on screenshots below).

Clear cache from Play Market

After clearing the cache, it is highly advisable to restart the phone (for the menu to appear, as in the screenshot below, just hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds). After rebooting, check the Play Market functionality again.

The system may be updating other applications at the moment

Play Market has one peculiarity: it does not download or install several applications at the same time. And if you want to download some application, but others are being updated at the moment, you will have to wait ...

Updated 11 apps (notification for Android)

Usually, in this case, when the button is pressed "Install" , the inscription appears "Download Pending" .

Waiting for download ... (Play Market)

Please note that in most cases, the downloadable application is displayed in the top menu of Android (if you wish, you can cancel the download, then the system will proceed to download the next one ...).

What's currently being loaded into the Play Market

You can use alternative app stores

Of course, the Play Market has analogues (and not very bad ones!). In those cases when you cannot find any application on it or when the service is temporarily unavailable, it is quite possible to use similar stores (we are talking about Yandex Store, Amazon AppStore, APKPure, SlideME, etc.). I talked about them in one of my previous articles (link below).

Disconnect from the Wi-Fi network (if connected ...)

If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, try disconnecting from it and starting the installation of the application from the Play Market again. The point is, if you have a weak Wi-Fi connection - the phone can simply "wait" for it to be restored and loaded ...

While disconnecting from such a Wi-Fi network, it would be possible to download the application literally in a matter of minutes (if, of course, you have Internet traffic 👀) ...

Try to turn off the Wi-Fi network for the duration of the diagnosis

Try to install the application from a PC

Not all novice users know that the Play Market ( //play.google.com ) you can log in from a computer / laptop, select an application and install it on any of your Android devices (see the screen below).

This option can help out if the preinstalled Play Market application on the phone becomes buggy and behaves unstable.

Use a VPN (some addresses may have been blocked by accident ...)

If the Play Market does not even load (or it happens every other time), it is possible that some IP addresses were blocked by your provider and are currently unavailable (for example, this already happened during the blocking of Telegram in Russia, when the distribution got thousands of random IPs).

In this case, we can recommend using a VPN (I am impressed by one simple application - Turbo VPN (You can download it in various app stores, the link to them was given above, see item 4)). The principle of working with it is extremely simple: after starting, just press the button "Connect" , and then move on to using other applications.

Resetting your phone to factory settings

In some cases, errors can be corrected only with a complete reset of the phone settings (the so-called Hard Reset). In this case, not only some parameters and settings will be deleted, but also your photos, videos, applications, correspondence, etc. (including various errors).

Usually, they resort to resetting when unexplained errors with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Google services, etc. appear. In order not to repeat myself here, I will give a link to one of my previous articles on this topic.
