Interbank transfer: online money transfer from one account to another - how to do it?

Good day everyone!

Quite often in everyday life we have to transfer money to various accounts, for example, to pay something, transfer money to another bank, pay off a loan, etc.

You can, of course, go to the bank, ask the operator, and she will complete this task, or you can do it yourself in 5-10 minutes sitting at the PC (and save money, since online services are cheaper than through a bank employee). 👌

And in general, unfortunately, lately, business with banks in our country has not been going very well ... either one will be closed, then the other, then it's time to think about scattering funds in 2-3 banks so as not to be left without money at all (while the insurance pays out there ... ☺). And the interbank. online transfers - allows you to do it very quickly!

Actually, this article will be about the interbank transfer (or, as it is briefly called, "interbank"): i.e. transfer from an account in one bank according to the details (account number, BIK, full name, TIN, etc.) to an account in another bank. I know that many are frightened by all these details and wording, but in this article I will try to explain everything as simply as possible ...

👉 Important!

Not so long ago, in our country (from 01.2020), an SBP (system of fast payments) began to operate. This is a fast interbank transfer by phone number.

Learn more about how to transfer money by phone number through the SBP you can find out at the link given.

How to transfer money from an account in one bank to an account in another

I will write the article in the order of the most popular questions that are asked on this topic. I think it will be easier to figure it out this way ...

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an interbank transfer?

Pros:

  1. the interbank transfer goes through the Central Bank, and this is still high reliability: nothing will be lost anywhere and will not be stolen (i.e., the bank from which the funds are transferred first sends them to the Central Bank, and that is already forwarded to the recipient's bank, and already thats if everything is ok with requisites - credits them to a specific account). Those. it is much safer (especially for large amounts) than carrying money to another bank on your own (or using alternative funds transfer options);
  2. If you confuse the details when sending, then the recipient's bank will simply return the money back to the sender's bank (the returned money will go to the account from which it was debited, everything about everything in this case may take up to 5 working days). When transferring from card to card - if you mix up the card number, the money will not be automatically returned;
  3. you can send almost unlimited amounts (several million). When transferring from card to card, there are limits, usually 75,000 rubles. for 1 translation;
  4. You can make a transfer from any bank to any bank (in our country). In addition, almost all banks have this function available in the Internet bank;
  5. it is confidential, no one will know about the transfer (of course, except for banks and some of our bodies).

About the interbank ...

Minuses:

  1. the transfer speed cannot be accurately predicted: it can take 1 hour (if the transfer was made on a working day and you successfully got on a bank "flight"), or it can take up to 5 working days! (by the way, the same is true for cards - for some of them the transfer is also credited for several days. From experience I will say that, as a rule, transfers to Visa cards reach much faster than to MasterCard)
  2. some banks have high commissions of 1-2% (however, when transferring from card to card - the commission can be even higher - up to 3%). I would like to point out right away that usually the bank's commissions provide for a maximum amount: i.e. 1% for a transfer, but not more than 1000 rubles. Those. if you transfer 100,000 rubles.you will pay a commission of 1,000 rubles if you transfer 500,000 rubles. - still pay a commission of 1000 rubles.

Maybe it's better to use a card-to-card transfer?

It all depends on the amount of the transfer and the tariffs of your bank. In some cases, a card-to-card transfer is beneficial, in others - an interbank transfer. As for the terms of translation - here it is difficult to say which translation will arrive faster (therefore, I do not take this into account).

For example, Sberbank now charges 1% of the amount for an interbank transfer (in the Internet bank), but not more than 1,500 rubles; in the Russian Standard for the interbank - 10 rubles. (regardless of the amount). The difference in the face ?!

As for the transfer from card to card, here the tariffs go up to 3% (where you can make a transfer: various services on the network, ATMs, Internet banking). However, some banks, especially recently, have a tempting thing: you can replenish your card through their Internet bank without a commission!

For example, I use a card from B&N Bank, which can be replenished without commission from almost any other bank card. Pay attention to the screen below. By the way, many other banks have similar services: VTB, Alfa-Bank, Russian Standard, Tinkov, etc. (This is not an advertisement for specific banks, just my opinion from the outside. Although I would not refuse gratitude from them, these bankers will never thank ☺) .

Important! Some banks that issued your card (they are called issuers) may charge their commission for transfers from her.

Therefore, when making transfers from card to card, in order to make sure how long your transfer will take, and what commission will be charged as a result, try first to make a transfer for a small amount of 100-200 rubles.

An example of a transfer from a Sberbank card to a B&N bank card

As for the amounts, usually there is a limit for transfers from card to card - 75,000 rubles. (and no more than 10-15 transfers per day, or per month. Each bank has its own limits, but on average, something like this).

Summarizing

In one case, the interbank can be beneficial, in the other - transfer from card to card. To make it easier to understand, I will give two illustrative examples:

  1. you need to transfer 50,000 rubles. from Sberbank to B&N Bank. If you transfer via an interbank transfer, you will pay a commission of 500 rubles, when transferring from card to card, the commission will be 0 rubles. (if done through the recipient's card Internet bank). Obviously, the second method is more beneficial;
  2. you need to transfer 700,000 rubles. to another bank. Obviously, the limits on transfers from card to card will not allow you to transfer the entire amount, and in this case, it will be faster and more reliable to use the interbank market.

What is needed for such a translation, where to find these details, and what do they mean?

To make an interbank transfer, you need to know:

  1. The full name of the person to whom you want to transfer funds (I emphasize, not just the name, but the correct spelling to the letter, as in the passport. An error in one letter - 100% return of the transfer). If you translate an organization (and not an individual) - then the full name of the organization, as it is registered (usually, organizations are paid under contracts, which always indicate full details);
  2. account number (important! Account number is not a card number!). It is a 20-digit sequence of numbers, a regular account starts at "408" or at "423" (if it is a deposit account);

    QIWI bank card (example of account number)

  3. BIC - each bank has its own (it's like a unique identifier). It is a 9-digit sequence of numbers. After entering the BIC, usually, the name of the bank to which you make the transfer is automatically entered;
  4. TIN - it is far from always required (moreover, if you translate to an individual, you can fill in the column with zeros or do not write anything in it at all);
  5. KPP (registration code) - is required very rarely, and only when transferring to a legal entity.

Details can be found:

  1. at the bank employee where you opened an account or card;
  2. details in most cases are in the service agreement with the bank.Often, when you even get an ordinary plastic card, a bank employee, just in case, puts a sheet of paper with all the details into the contract;
  3. in the Internet bank (for example, in Sberbank-online, it is enough to open the section "Cards" or "Deposits and Accounts" , select the required card / account, and in the information tab on it, click on the link "Requisites for transfer" ).

    Transfer details // Sberbank-online

  4. by a hot phone in your bank.

How to send an interbank transfer to Sberbank-online?

I will show it using the example of the same Sberbank (due to its popularity ...). First, you need to open the Internet bank, the "Transfers and Payments" tab (if you do not know how to register in it, see the link above. That article describes all the basics of working with Sberbank online).

Next, you need to select either "Transfer to a private person ... by details", or "Transfer of an organization". In my example below, I will simply transfer money from my Sberbank account to an account with another bank.

By the way, if the person to whom you are transferring is also a client of Sberbank, then the transfer of funds is much easier and faster (in this case, click the link "Transfer to a client of Sberbank"). You just need to know his card number or phone number.

Sberbank-online - transfer to a private person

A window should appear with a bunch of graphs to fill out. If you are doing a translation for the first time, your eyes run up ... ☺

To begin with, we indicate the full name and account number. Next, the BIK of the bank (the correspondent account and the name of the bank should be substituted automatically (this is done, in my opinion, in all banks)), indicate the amount and the card / account of the debiting (from which the transfer amount will be debited).

And the last thing, you indicate note to the transfer, and confirm the transfer. About the note a couple of lines below ...

Sberbank-online - filling in the details for the interbank. translation

In the note it is necessary to indicate the purpose of your translation. Any far-fetched fantasies (for example, "thanks for the beer") are inadmissible here. Most often, the following should be indicated:

  1. "transfer of own funds, excluding VAT" - this if you transfer your money to an account in another bank;
  2. "on account of payment under contract No. XX / X. VAT is not subject to" - this, for example, when paying for some services under a contract (usually, when transferring an organization or a legal entity);
  3. "Private translation, VAT exempt" - if you just transfer money to a private person (return a debt, for example). Can be replaced with "Material aid".

Summing up. What is important and what to remember

  1. to transfer, you need to know: full name (or the name of the organization), account number, BIK of the bank (in some cases, INN and KPP);
  2. account number is not a card number!
  3. in some banks the interbank is not possible from the card account. To complete it, you must first open a "current account", then, for example, transfer money to it from your card account, and only after that - make a transfer (for example, Trust Bank);
  4. account number is a sequence of 20 digits, starts with 408 or 423 (relevant for Russia);
  5. transfer time from 1 hour to 5 days! It all depends on the sender's bank and the recipient's bank - they all work differently ... Most often, money arrives on the next business day. For example, you made a transfer on Saturday - the money will probably be credited to your account on Monday (but it can also be on Friday!);
  6. if you made a mistake in some details, then within 5 working days the money must be returned to the sender's account;
  7. if you want to cancel the interbank - then this can be done only in some cases, when the money has not yet left the sender's bank (if they left, then the cancellation is impossible). Therefore, before sending somewhere and someone, "measure seven times" ...;
  8. the interbank is safe, fast enough, it is regulated by the Central Bank, allows you to send money anywhere in the country and to any branch of the bank.Money on the way will not be lost, no one will steal it, and in general, the likelihood of any problems is minimal (compared to all other types of payments).

That's all for today. Constructive additions are welcome.

Good luck!
