Where to download games to your computer: territory of gamers & # x1f60e;

Greetings to all!

Are computer games as bad as the older generation scolds them? The question is debatable, but it is indisputable that a game launched on time will relieve stress, and soothe, and English. language will help you learn!

But, actually, today is not about that ... 👌

Often, I am asked questions about the inoperability of a particular game, about patches, updates, etc. All these questions and problems (very often) are solved an order of magnitude faster if you reinstall the game from one of the officers. resources (fortunately, many games are distributed free of charge at all, especially now, during a pandemic).

In today's article, of course, I decided to cite several of the largest resources where you can download just a huge number of games on a PC (moreover, on some of them, you can easily find friends and like-minded people!).

So...

👉 By the way!

In this article, I can not help but recommend a few of my past notes that may introduce you to real game hits of the past!

1) Games for weak laptops and PCs (4 parts: strategy, racing, sports, adventure and shooting).

2) How to play old DOS games directly in the browser (without downloading): Pac-Man, Prince of Persia, SimCity, etc.

3) Dandy games that you can play on a computer - old hits for weak PCs (nostalgia)

Where to find and download games

Option 1: Steam

Link to the official. website: //store.steampowered.com/

Perhaps, Steam Is one of the largest services (library, store, etc.) related to games.

Here you can not only find and download most of the PC games (official copies from the developers), but also meet other people who are also interested in this game!

I cannot but note that Steam allows you to: take screenshots and videos from games, exchange messages in your social. networks, conduct voice conferences, use the "workshop" with mods and much more ...

Steam - a collection of games

I also note that the service has both paid and free versions of games. Their client independently downloads all the necessary files for the game to work, updates some of the libraries (DirectX, C ++), etc. All you need to do is press the "play" button!

Counter-Strike - game update

Option 2: Microsoft Store

Free collection link: //www.microsoft.com/

Large app store from Microsoft. Here are both programs for Windows and large collection of games.

On the Microsoft Store you can find games of various genres: shooters, racing, various desktop "products" (chess, checkers, etc.), farms, etc. 😎 See screenshot below, menu on the left.

Microsoft Store - screen of the search page

As for the installation and configuration: it is extremely simple. When you find the game you want, just click on the button "Receive" ... When the game is downloaded and installed (in auto mode), you will have a button "Play" ... Convenient ?! 👌

Get & Play - Microsoft Store

By the way, it should be noted that there are also exclusive games on the Microsoft Store, such as Gears of War or Forza Motorsport!

On the downside: there is no such large community as on Steam (well, the collection of games, of course, is simpler ...).

*

Option 3: torrents

Still a fairly popular way of downloading games (however, it is not the most convenient now: 1) it is not known what will be given to you; 2) it is problematic to download and pre-install updates; 3) quite often, when installing the game, you pick up various viruses and advertisements).

As for trackers, I will not recommend them, there are plenty of them on the network 👌. But about the client - I would advise you to pay attention to MediaGet and qBittorrent (they have a built-in search for files (including games), which is very convenient).

👉 To help!

1) Analogs of uTorrent: choose a program to download torrents.

2) Downloaded games usually come in images. How to open them - see this note.

qBittorrent is a good alternative to uTorrent

Option 4: Battle.Net

Official website: //eu.shop.battle.net/ru-ru

It is an online service developed by the legendary Blizzard Entertainment. There are not so many games here, but you can find exclusive and very interesting hits: World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Destiny, etc.

By the way, they have specials. an application for Android that allows you to meet online and communicate with like-minded people, and, of course, monitor the state of game servers. 👍

Note: you can find out more detailed information about the service at the official. website and Wikipedia page.

Option 5: Origin from EA

Official website: //www.origin.com/

This resource was created with the support of a very famous manufacturer of computer games - Electronic Arts (or simply EA). Allows you to easily and quickly find, download, install and purchase games using the Origin client.

Probably, many are familiar with such hits from EA as: Battlefield, Crysis, Star Wars: Battlefront, Jade Empire, FIFA, etc.

It is worth noting separately: EA often gives away many games for free! What is just the distribution of Battlefield 3! 👍

Another plus: for many games, EA gives a test time to get to know each other. It is more than enough to get enough of it and decide whether to purchase a full copy. Conveniently!

Minus: there are problems with connecting to EA servers for residents of Crimea.

Option 6: GOG

Official website: //www.gog.com/

This is a Polish resource with a solid library of games and films. At the beginning of its existence (in 2008) - the service provided absolutely all games for $ 5-10 (agree that the price is not high and was available to a wide audience).

Now, with the release of many new products, the price range has become much larger ... (which, in my opinion, took away its "zest" from GOG)

What's more remarkable about GOG: all purchased games can be downloaded countless times and stored on any media you want (the purchased game is not tied to your GOG profile in any way)!

In addition, for many games, you can get an add-on for free. bonuses: soundtrack, wallpapers, avatars, manuals, etc. Many fans of old games special. buy a copy on GOG to get your hands on this stuff!

Option 7: catalog of games from Mail.ru

Official page: //games.mail.ru/play/

In general, I do not really "like" Mail.ru because of their intrusive policy with browsers and some services, but I cannot but mention their directory 👌 ...

Despite the very large number of games, they are all well cataloged, easy to install / configure, etc. etc. Apparently, Mail.ru will soon create a full-fledged analogue of Steam (which is good news - the more sites, the more often different promotions and lower prices).

Screen from Mail.ru website

I note that the developers will soon promise to add a lot of functions to their game center: social. network, audio and video communication, broadcasts, streams, etc.

*

Option 8: Humble Bundle

Official website: //www.humblebundle.com/

On the one hand - the usual library of games, on the other - pay attention to the name ("Modest bundle / set"), and this has its own "uniqueness" for the service ...

What is the point: the site provides not only individual games, but also collections (sets / convolutions) at once for relatively little money. For example, you can buy Company of Heroes + several parts of Total War + the first two chapters of Warhammer 40,000 for $ 10-20. How interesting?

Screen from Humble Bundle website

Of course, the so-called "game rolls" can be different. Right now (at the time of this writing) - there are no super interesting offers yet (but something suggests - they will be! 👌). I recommend having the service in your bookmarks and periodically looking at it.

*

Option 9: Google Play Market

Official website: //play.google.com/

Google Play has a huge collection of small casual games for Android (and some of them are real hits that attract hundreds of thousands of users around the world!). It is impossible not to mark such a site in the current note? ..

Important! Of course, in order to play them on a Windows computer, you need special. emulators. Those. by installing such an Android emulator program, you can run any hits from the Play Market in it!

Screenshot from Google Play website

By the way!

If you like the format of such games from the Play Market, then it has several analogues, and there you can also find a lot of interesting things!

*

Option 10: Yandex games

Official page: //yandex.ru/games/category/tabletop

This is a page with a collection of "simple" games that can be easily and quickly launched on almost any device (even with a weak video card, where full-fledged computer games do not work).

The service from Yandex has everything you need: any card games, board games, various coloring pages, quests, etc. There is where to turn around 👌!

Yandex games!

It is also worth noting a very good cataloging: everything you need is literally 2-3 clicks of the mouse. In general, 10 points!

Add-ons on the topic are always welcome!

All the best!
