How to make wireless Bluetooth out of ordinary speakers (sound output from a phone / laptop to old speakers without wires!)

Good day.

Now everything wireless is in vogue: mice, keyboards, joysticks, speakers (acoustic systems), etc.

It is good, of course, to update the equipment with new ones, and when the question of replacement concerns inexpensive devices (such as a mouse), then no problem, but changing high-quality and rather expensive speakers to similar ones only because of the support of several "options" (the same wireless communication via Bluetooth ) - somehow not justified ... ☝

And in this article I will give one of the simplest and "cheapest" ways to make wireless speakers from ordinary (relatively old) speakers (and transmit sound to them via Bluetooth from a phone, laptop or TV).

I'll draw up a note in the form of step-by-step actions (it's easier to perceive).

Sound output from phone / laptop via Bluetooth to regular speakers

STEP 1

And so, the first thing to start with is to inspect the speakers (speaker system). Different connectors / plugs may be used depending on their model. In most cases, either mini Jack 3,5 mm or RCA   (so-called "tulips": yellow, red, white) .

Example (different jacks / plugs on speakers)

Next, we need to purchase a device such as "Bluetooth Receiver" (i.e. Bluetooth receiver - which will receive the signal wirelessly and transmit it to the speakers). The cost of an average receiver in the range of 500-1000 rubles.

Note that receivers can be with support for different connectors (that's why I recommended to clarify which ones on your speakers). In my opinion, it is best to take a receiver that has both RCA and 3.5 Jack connectors.

Buy the receiver can be found in the online store AliExpress (and, moreover, you can also get a discount) - //ocomp.info/kak-zakazat-tovar-na-aliekspres.html

The appearance of a typical Bluetooth receiver is shown in the photo below. Please note that today it is advisable to purchase a device with Bluetooth 5.0 support (a lot depends on the Bluetooth version: connection speed, stability, etc.)

Bluetooth Receiver (3.5mm Jack Aux, RCA)

STEP 2

And so, the receiver was purchased ...

Now you need to connect it to your speakers (speaker system). It usually boils down to three things:

  1. connect the speaker cable to the receiver (RCA, Jack 3.5, etc.). See the photo below;
  2. connect the receiver to power, usually either a power supply or a USB port is used (some can operate on battery power);
  3. turn on the receiver (almost all models are equipped with an LED).

Connecting Bluetooth receiver to speakers

By the way, some models of receivers can be connected directly to two or three types of speakers (very convenient if you have a large "audio set").

STEP 3

Telephone

If we are talking about a smartphone, then first you need to open its settings, the Bluetooth section. If Bluetooth detection is enabled, the receiver's brand will appear in the list of available devices. All that remains is to select it and complete the pairing.

In some cases, it may require entering a pin code. You can find it on the box with the receiver (or instructions for it). In general, usually something standard is used: 0000, 1111, 1234, etc.

Pairing the Bluetooth receiver with a phone (laptop)

Notebook

Pay attention to the tray (the bottom of the screen, where the clock is) - as a rule, if the driver for the Bluetooth adapter is installed on the device, there should be a corresponding icon there, by clicking on which you can start pairing devices (see screenshot below).

To help! There is no Bluetooth icon on the laptop: how to add it to the tray next to the clock [instructions] - //ocomp.info/propal-znachok-bluetooth.html

Adding a Bluetooth device

If you have Windows 10 - you can also use a combination of buttons Win + i and in the tab "Devices" add new ... See screenshot below.

Windows 10 - setting up Bluetooth operation

At all, the pairing of the laptop with the Bluetooth receiver is not disconnected from the connection of the wireless headphones.I had an article on this topic on my blog, I recommend that you read it if you have a problem at this stage: //ocomp.info/kak-podklyuchit-besprovodnyie-naushniki.html#_Windows

STEP 4

Actually, that's all! Now, having opened any musical composition or movie, the sound will be transmitted to the speakers. Conveniently?!

We use it!

By the way, on some laptops, after connecting the receiver, the sound is also played from the built-in speakers. Usually, this happens due to Windows incorrectly detecting the playback device ...

This can be manually configured. To do this, press the combination of buttons Win + R , and use the command mmsys.cpl (universal method for all versions of Windows).

mmsys.cpl - sound settings

Further, in the tab "Playback" you will have several devices displayed to which you can send sound: loudspeaker, headphones, etc.

Our receiver should also be among them (usually just its model is displayed). Having found it among the list - right-click on it, and select the option "Use as default" ... As a rule, the sound will immediately start playing in the speakers.

Use as default

PS

If your laptop does not find the receiver, try the recommendations from this post: //ocomp.info/bluetoth-ne-vidimost-ustroystv.html

Additions on the topic are always welcome in the comments. That's all for today, all the best!
