Voice -> text: working ways

Option 1: using Google Docs

The easiest way (and most likely you won't need to pre-install anything) is to use Google functions, for example, the Google Docs app (on most smartphones it is already preinstalled, which is called "out of the box").

For our current task, you can either create a new document, or open any of the existing ones ...

new document

Next, pay attention to the "button" with the microphone (in my example, it is located next to the space bar) - you need to hold it down for 3-5 seconds.

After that, the standard Google function should be activated - voice dialing. Now the phone will be able to translate your speech into text (moreover, due to the fact that we have opened the document, all the text will be automatically saved).

Hold button with microphone / Android 9.0

Note: if Google does not perceive your speech well, check if the language is specified in the settings (most often, they choose Russian and English). See example below.

Option 2: using direct decryption software

This app is developed by Google for the hearing impaired. It uses specials. algorithms that allow you to easily convert the usual voice of your interlocutor into text (even if it comes with an accent!). By the way, in the same window you can type your answer (text) from the keyboard - this can be useful in a dialogue.

Note: to get started with the application, you just need to launch it! See screenshots below.

Speech is automatically converted ...

By the way, in the settings you can change the font size, input language, set the theme, the ability to save transcripts, etc.

Application settings - language selection and saving

Features:

  1. the application supports 70 languages and dialects;
  2. external microphones are supported (including Bluetooth version);
  3. the ability to work with several languages at once;
  4. vibration response;
  5. the ability to print text in the application itself;
  6. works on devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and higher.

Option 3: via translator

Google translator - link to the service

This method is good, first of all, for exchanging small short phrases (moreover, even if you do not need to receive the translation itself). You don't need to install anything on your phone, the translator works right in the browser.

Note that the application can not only perceive speech and translate it into text, but also do "something opposite" - read the typed text aloud (though the sound is still different from a real person, but nevertheless ...).

Option 4: using a Yandex conversation

Yandex conversation - link to Google Play

This application is convenient for continuous use.With its help, you can even listen to long lectures - each separate phrase (sentence) will start on a new line (paragraph). It's pretty handy!

By the way, the application has the ability to type text from the keyboard, and then speak it out - the application will pronounce the phrase aloud quite accurately.

Features:

  1. only Russian language is supported;
  2. can be used in a not very noisy place;
