How to find out your TV model (TV)

Good day!

Recently, questions about TV have become more frequent (perhaps this is due to the imminent transition to digital).

And one of the fairly popular "problems" is associated with determining the exact model and series of the TV. By the way, this can help not only to find out support for the DVB-T2 format, but also:

  • to search for the original remote control;
  • to download a new firmware (and this can provide new opportunities, eliminate a number of glitches);
  • to call the master (in case of device breakdown);
  • to get those. specifications for TV (to find out / clarify its capabilities).

In general, below I will present several methods that I have used more than once myself (by the way, they are relevant for different device models: Samsung, LG, Philips, etc.).

Definition of TV model

Method 1: sticker on the back of the TV

This is perhaps one of the simplest, most reliable and fastest ways to find out the model of the device (even if it is broken or does not turn on). I draw your attention to the fact that such a sticker should be looked for on back wall TV, close to various ports: HDMI, USB, etc.

My example shows how it looks for the 32LJ500V-ZB model.

By the way, if it is difficult to get to the sticker (for example, if the TV is fixed on a bracket and hangs on the wall), you can take a picture of it with a smartphone, and then enlarge the photo and see ...

Method 2: through the device menu

If the TV is turned on and working, then the TV model and series must be presented in the settings menu (assuming your device is fairly new).

Lg

1) First you need to open the settings (usually, this is the Settings button on the remote control).

2) Next, you need to go to the menu "System information / software version" .

3) After the screen will be presented:

  • TV model and type;
  • software version;
  • support center phone number;
  • home page (and other information).

2) In this information window, you will see all the necessary information: software version, model code, QR code, etc.

Philips

When watching TV programs, press the buttons on the remote control in sequence: 123654... Next, a "blue" menu will appear on the TV screen, the first line of which will indicate the model of the device.

Method 3: using a QR code

On new monitors and TVs in 2019, they have now often glued a QR code, which can be read in the blink of an eye on a smartphone and find out not only the device model, but also immediately get a link to the official support site.

Method 4: tech. documentation

If you still have those. documentation or operating instructions (these things always come with the TV set) - they almost certainly contain information about the model. One example is shown in the photo below ...

Method 5: sticker on the TV box

On the box from under the TV (as well as from under monitors, laptops, etc.), you can usually also find stickers and information windows from those. characteristics of the device.

However, the method is not very reliable, since almost no one keeps big boxes at home ... 👀
