How do I flip only part of a video, not the whole?

Good day!

Not so long ago I received several questions about the video rotation, I will post one of them here ...

👇

User question

Hello!

Filmed video on a mobile phone. Now I have several videos at the same time with horizontal and vertical position (i.e., during the viewing process, the video is turned over 90 degrees).

Is it possible to somehow flip only part of the video 90 degrees, and not the whole thing? It is very inconvenient to watch it ...

In general, the most common situation. Below I will consider one of the ways to solve it ...

How to flip a specific part of a video 90 degrees

To fix the video, we need one simple video editor for beginners - "Video Montage".

👉 VIDEO INSTALLATION

Developer site: //video-editor.su/

Easy and convenient video editor in Russian. Because my series of articles is devoted to this editor, then in this article I will not deviate from my choice ...

Why exactly "VIDEO MONITORING": the video is easily rotated 360 degrees; supports and opens the most common formats: AVI, MPG, WMV, FLV, MKV, etc .; a very simple program to learn.

STEP # 1: cutting the roller into 2-3 parts

The firstwhat you need to do is to find the borders in the video, where your picture turns over. Those. you need to cut the video into several clips, some of which will be with a normal picture, and some with an inverted one.

I'm in mine For example, I'll take one video in which the image is flipped once.

And so, I will consider the whole process step by step (for convenience). 👇

1) First, we launch the program and create a new project - "Cutting video" .

Project start / video cut

2) Next, add our video to the program (just one button - there is nothing to comment on).

Adding video for cutting

3) Then I need the added video split in two: so that one is with a normal image and the other with a rotated image.

To do this, you must:

  1. select the first part of the video using the sliders (before rotating the picture. See arrow 1 on the screenshot below 👇);
  2. by the way, specials can help with the selection. tools under the black sliders (in principle, you can do without them - that's why I don't consider them in detail. See arrow 2 in the screenshot below);
  3. when the first part is selected - press the button "new fragment" (in my case, this highlighted part with a normal picture, in yours it can be turned over, the main thing is to highlight up to the moment where the turn is made).

Selecting the first fragment

4) Next, you need to select using the "black sliders" (arrow 1 on the screen below ск) the second part of the video. Then press the button "Further" .

Thus, we get two videos from the original one. Only one part will be normal, and the second will need to be turned

Selecting the second (inverted) fragment

5) Save the resulting video to original quality (i.e. we do not code anything yet and do not waste time on it)!

Save video in original quality

6) If everything went well, you will see a message about the successful conversion! Now you can go further ...

All OK

STEP # 2: gluing and rotating the desired parts

Current task: add the resulting multiple clips to a new project, apply the flip effect to those clips that are reversed, and glue the resulting parts. This is all done quite simply. Look below ... 👇

1) First, we create a new project - "File / new project" (you can press Ctrl + N buttons).

New project / Ctrl + N

2) Next, select the video format (I recommend sticking to the widescreen one, it is now one of the most popular and demanded).

Large format project

3) Now add video to the project.To do this, open the section "Add / video and photo" and choose our cut rollers, add them to the project (arrows 1, 2, 3, 4 on the screenshot below 👇).

Note: on the video scale (at the bottom of the window), each added video will be displayed in its own small square window (see number 5 in the screenshot below).

Adding inverted and normal video to a project

4) Then open the section "Edit / Effects" ... Here you will need to do the following:

  1. on the scale with the video, select the video on which our picture is rotated (in my example, this is the second video, see the previous and next screenshots). It should turn highlighted light yellow;
  2. then check the box in the effects Rotate 90 degrees - the picture will immediately change before your eyes (see example below, arrow 4 👇).

Note: Pay attention to the order of the clips in the video scale below. They can be swapped (just drag the desired video to the desired location with the mouse), depending on how you want them to be connected.

Overlay effect

5) The final touch - save the resulting video. To do this, open " Create / Create AVI Video File ".

Save video

6) Then select the video codec, video quality (or specify the size of the resulting video), set the resolution and save the video.

☝ If bye don't understand well all these parameters - select the AVI (DivX) format and press the button "Create video" ... The program saves by default in optimal quality.

Codec selection

Note: The encoding process can be quite lengthy. To view the finished result, you will need to wait until the end of the process 👌 (by the way, the remaining coding time in the program is often spelled incorrectly, more precisely, it changes during work ...).

That, in fact, is the whole solution to the problem ...

Add-ons are welcome!

Good luck!
