Best Browsers in 2019: Top 10

Good day!

If you spend a lot of time on the Internet, then, perhaps, a lot depends on the choice of the browser ... For example, how long will you wait for the pages to open and load, how quickly the files will load, whether the browser saves you time by filling out repetitive forms, etc. etc.

Such seemingly little things make us waste a few minutes every day, and this, in turn, is several hours a week, or several days a year! And this is without taking into account the search for some plugins, if it suddenly turns out that the desired option is not in the program ...

Agree, it makes sense to dwell on the choice of a browser in more detail? In general, in this article I will present 10 browsers that are among the leaders at the beginning of 2019. The article is relevant for Windows (Android *) users.

So...

Best browsers 2019: top 10 [trends]

Yandex browser

Official website: //browser.yandex.ru/

Main browser window / Clickable

Recently, the browser from Yandex has added quite a lot: both in terms of performance and protection. In terms of the ratio of speed / load on a PC, it occupies a leading position (it consumes less memory than the same Chrome by about 3-7% according to the results of independent tests (with a "clean" installation of products)).

As for security: sites with viruses that steal bank card data - the browser will simply block and prevent them from being visited. The same applies to all downloaded files (a nice addition to your classic antivirus).

I would also note the convenient browser integration with all Yandex services (mail, money, etc.). By the way, one more nice thing: the browser can be used both on a PC and on a smartphone / tablet (moreover, the data will be synchronized both there and there: i.e. if you, working on a PC, found an interesting site and added to your favorites , then after, behind the tablet - you can view it among the bookmarks).

Pros:

  1. very fast and stable (even with 2 dozen open tabs, the browser is very stable);
  2. built-in voice assistant "Alice" (now you can just speak search queries into the microphone);
  3. "Protect" technology: protects you from malicious sites and viruses. The browser simply won't let you download the dangerous file;
  4. the presence of the "Turbo" mode: will speed up the download of videos, graphics, etc. Helps in those cases when you work at a low-speed tariff (or the provider has some technical problems);
  5. built-in ad filter: all intrusive ads will be blocked;
  6. synchronization: passwords, favorites, settings will be synchronized between all your devices on which the browser is installed;
  7. built-in Zen feed: the browser learns itself when working with it, and offers a news feed based on your interests (a very handy thing, by the way);
  8. several browser design options.

Cons: one of the most important disadvantages (in my opinion) is the very active imposition of services from this company.

Opera

Official website: //www.opera.com/ru

Opera browser - screen of the program window

A fairly fast and multifunctional browser. The regular version of the browser includes everything you need: turbo-loading pages, VPN, battery saving, currency converter, torrent client, reading RSS feeds, etc. (in many other browsers, for this to be all, you need to install a dozen plugins !).

Tip: to significantly speed up your browser, turn on turbo mode, and turn off the display of ads.

Features:

  1. the speed of work is comparable to that of Google Chrome, moreover, there are many more functions out of the box in Opera;
  2. free VPN service (note: allows you to increase your anonymity and safety on the network, also helps in some cases to view blocked sites);
  3. the function of saving battery power (relevant for laptops / smartphones, according to the developers, it allows you to reduce the load from the browser on the battery by up to 50%!);
  4. built-in ad blocker: blocks the most intrusive ads that interfere with browsing sites (redirecting to other sites, pop-up windows, etc.);
  5. the presence of "Opera Turbo": technology allows you to speed up the loading of sites / videos;
  6. the browser has a built-in currency converter: it will automatically show the price in rubles if it is displayed in euros or dollars (or any other currency);
  7. the ability to view online video in frames: i.e. in windows on top of regular web pages (very convenient in some cases);
  8. more than 1000 extensions that allow you to change the look of the browser beyond recognition;
  9. personal news feed (you can manually add only those resources that you want to read);
  10. all popular platforms are supported: Windows, iOS, Android, MacOS, Linux.

Google chrome

Official website: //www.google.com/chrome/

Google Chrome - window screenshot

One of the most popular browsers in Runet (statistics show that more than 40% of users use this browser!). Differs in high speed of work, reliability, high compatibility (works great both on a computer and a smartphone, tablet).

Considering that thousands of various add-ons have been released to the browser, you can easily "tie" a variety of functions to it: for example, download video and audio from a page at the click of a mouse; block ads; receive cashback, etc.

Features:

  1. fast enough (although today it is overtaken * by some other browsers: Yandex browser, Firefox Quantum, etc.) ;
  2. hints from Google: when you enter a request in the address bar of the browser, you will automatically receive hints that will help save time on generating a request;
  3. thousands of different plugins and add-ons for the browser;
  4. Chrome can remember the data you enter in various forms, and then automatically substitute them on other sites. (for example, if you register parts on various sites, then you do not have to constantly "drive in" your mail, name, etc. - the browser will remember them and will substitute it itself) ;
  5. the design of the browser is made in the style of minimalism: there is nothing superfluous;
  6. good security level: the browser warns about all dangerous pages before they are shown to you;
  7. synchronization of browser settings between your PC, phone, laptop and other devices on which Chrome is installed.

Microsoft Edge

Official site: //www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/windows/microsoft-edge

Microsoft Edge - open this site in your browser!

Quite good browser from Microsoft (just don't confuse Edge and Internet Explorer). Its relatively high popularity can be explained not only by its "unique" capabilities, but also by the fact that it is built into the new Windows 10 operating system (which means, if you like it or not, you will have to launch it to load another browser ).

But in general, the browser deserves its high popularity (in my opinion). I would recommend it more to those who read a lot, work with documents, print various web pages on a printer (the browser has special modes for these tasks).

Features:

  1. good optimization for Windows 10 (the browser is very fast, the speed is comparable to Chrome);
  2. the presence of a print and reading mode: all unnecessary elements will be "removed" from the page, the font is enlarged and the background is changed to "harmless" to the eyes (in this mode you can read for hours without discomfort. Very useful for sites with small print or black background);
  3. specialist. Microsoft algorithms reduce battery consumption;
  4. the ability to turn on automatic reading of the page by voice (for example, it is convenient for listening to some books that cannot be read on their own or trite laziness );
  5. the ability to save pages in PDF for reading them offline;
  6. it is possible to install additional. plugins (of course, there are fewer of them than for Chrome);
  7. the ability to create and share notes;
  8. smart address bar: you can insert not only URLs into it, but also search queries;
  9. high compatibility with Microsoft services (it is recommended to use it in cases when in another browser, for example, you cannot start downloading a file ...).

Firefox Quantum

Official website: //www.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/

Firefox Quantum - main window (viewing services from Yandex)

The Quantum browser version is probably one of the most controversial! The fact is that, according to the developers, their browser consumes 30% * less memory than Chrome (but according to the results of hundreds of tests, not many have received such a percentage ...). Following this, the browser was "branded", and in my opinion in vain!

Firstly, Quantum actually works pretty fast (and certainly faster than the "past" Firefox), and even more so with accelerated page loading enabled.

Secondly, when you open two dozen tabs (or even more), the browser behaves very smoothly and without freezing (which happens with the same Chrome or Opera is not so rare).

Thirdly, there are thousands of different plugins and add-ons for Firefox (some of them are unique and are only for this browser). In my opinion, all this together is worth having a browser at hand ...

Features:

  1. fast loading of pages with minimal memory consumption;
  2. smooth movement between open tabs (without freezing, even if you have opened a couple dozen);
  3. the ability to import bookmarks, passwords, etc. settings from other browsers;
  4. the possibility of private browsing (Firefox will not keep history, and increases your safety on the network - you will not be able to be tracked *);
  5. you can take screenshots of everything that you see on the web page (no third-party programs!);
  6. "Pocket" function: you can save any web page, and later view it in its original form;
  7. Game support: Firefox already includes WASM and WebVR packages;
  8. the ability to manually customize the toolbar;
  9. hundreds of extensions and themes (the browser can be "substantially" modified to suit your needs).

Maxthon

Official website: //ru.maxthon.com/

Maxthon 5 - browser main page (start menu) / Clickable

This browser is interesting primarily because two engines are built into it at once (and the user has the opportunity to test the program with one or the other - and then choose the fastest one on his PC).

It should also be noted that a lot of all sorts of nice functions are built into the browser: auto-blocking of aggressive ads, password manager, synchronization between your devices (if the browser is installed on a PC and a phone, for example), notes, etc.

Features:

  1. the browser uses two engines Trident and WebKit: you can manually select the one you want to work on;
  2. password manager (moreover, there is full synchronization between your browsers installed on Windows, Android, iOS, etc.);
  3. built-in service of notes Maxnote;
  4. built-in ad blocker;
  5. the ability to simply use an anonymous e-mail;
  6. the ability to create screenshots of web pages;
  7. the ability to download video, audio, pictures, etc. elements with one click of the mouse;
  8. advanced customization of the design and interface of the program;
  9. the ability to install plugins and add-ons;
  10. support Windows, Android, iOS, Mac.

Vivaldi

Official website: //vivaldi.com/ru/

The note! Vivaldi was created by the former developers of the Opera browser (the old one that everyone liked).

Vivaldi - browser window

A relatively young browser (2015 release), but rapidly gaining popularity.

In general, the browser itself is built on the Chromium engine, however, it has a lot of functions and little things that were in the good old Opera: for example, a preview when you hover over a tab; built-in download manager; notes; start menu where you can easily create and drag bookmarks and site previews; you can manually set the location of the tabs in the browser interface!

Features:

  • a lot of similarities with the good old Opera;
  • fast and very flexible (you can customize the browser for your tasks with a few clicks);
  • support for multiple search engines (can also be added manually). None of these are preferred;
  • the ability to create screenshots without leaving your browser;
  • quick enable / disable downloads of pictures and graphics;
  • built-in email client, download manager, note manager;
  • synchronization of notes, passwords, favorites, etc. browser settings between different devices;
  • the presence of a reading mode;
  • the presence of "hot" keys (can be configured manually);
  • support for extensions and plugins.

Overall, the browser is highly commendable. I would recommend it to everyone who previously liked the Opera browser ...

SlimJet

Official website: //www.slimjet.com/ru/

SlimJet - main program window

SlimJet is a fast, smart and functional browser built on the Blink and Chromium engines. The key direction in browser development: high speed and security. I would like to note that as far as the speed of work is concerned, the developers have partially succeeded in doing this. Compare at least video and photo downloads in this browser with others (an order of magnitude difference!).

Also, I cannot fail to note a fairly abundant number of options: the browser can be configured very "finely" on any PC and under any hands !

Features:

  1. auto-blocker of advertising windows;
  2. low CPU usage (especially when working with online video);
  3. download manager (with the ability to increase download speed / turbo mode);
  4. fully customizable toolbar;
  5. integration with social networks (Facebook);
  6. built-in weather forecast;
  7. support for plugins and themes;
  8. auto-filling of forms;
  9. built-in translator (you can quite comfortably visit sites in different languages);
  10. the ability to save web pages to screenshots;
  11. high protection of personal data (confidentiality);
  12. Supported OS: Windows, Linux, Mac OS X.

Tor Browser

Official site: //www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

Tor Browser - the first browser window after launch

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) Recently, more and more talk about anonymity, blocking, etc. And, in this regard, products such as Tor Browser are gaining wide popularity!

Remember at least the time when Telegram was blocked - many sites (not violating anything) also became inaccessible and without such products as Tor Browser, it was impossible to view them ...

As for the browser itself, it is almost a complete analogue of Firefox ("slightly" modified to fulfill its tasks ...).

Significant disadvantage: it takes some time to enable anonymity mode. And the speed of the browser in this mode leaves much to be desired (there is a slight delay of 0.5-1 sec. When loading pages).

Nevertheless, I cannot but note that the browser is gaining popularity, and even among my acquaintances (inexperienced in technology), quite a few "keep" it on the hard drive (just in case ...).

Avant Browser

Official website: //www.avantbrowser.com/

Avant Browser - screenshot of browser window / Clickable

Completely free browser (i.e. it does not have embedded ads, any preferences for services or search engines, etc.), developed by Chinese specialists.

It is distinguished primarily by its low system characteristics and faster video loading. It is also useful to highlight that the browser can run on one of three engines (you can select it manually). Moreover, you can set the engine for each site specifically your own (this, in my opinion, is not in other browsers!).

Features:

  1. built using three engines: Trident, Gecko and Blink (you can manually select the required one);
  2. multiprocessing: even if one of the tabs freezes, the browser as a whole will be responsive, and you will be able to work with all other tabs;
  3. accelerated video download (moreover, online videos can be uploaded to your HDD without any plugins);
  4. the presence of incognito mode (no one will know which sites and when you viewed on a PC);
  5. low system requirements (multiprocessor technology allows to reduce the load on the CPU and speed up the launch of the browser);
  6. it is possible to limit flash animation (allows you to speed up page loading and reduce the use of RAM);
  7. autocomplete forms on websites (a very useful thing for those who often register or fill in some kind of duplicate data);
  8. online bookmarks: now you will not lose your favorites if you reinstall the system (the browser stores them in the cloud, and you can always access them);
  9. ad blocking: the browser blocks unwanted ads on websites (moreover, there is a manual mode: you can independently block what you do not want to see on web pages);
  10. reading news feeds (flexible and customizable RSS grabber);
  11. multi-window interface: if you have a large screen, you can simultaneously view several sites at once.

Disadvantage: on some systems, it behaves unstable (there may be freezes when opening web pages with a lot of graphics).

That's all for now. Add-ons are welcome.

Good choice and good luck!
