How to increase the volume on Android (too quiet sound, I miss calls)

Hello.

Unfortunately, the volume on the phone (or tablet) is not always sufficient: it is not so rare that you have to listen ... Even worse, many people miss calls (sometimes important) when they are on the street or in some noisy place (just quiet the call is almost inaudible ).

Also, weak sound when playing music, when watching a video, etc. can be attributed to this category of problems.

In general, the reason for this "behavior" of the phone can be as those. malfunction and software (on some devices, developers deliberately underestimate the maximum possible sound for the sake of user safety - after all, too loud sound can cause hearing problems!). Well, since it was programmatically limited, it means that if you wish, this restriction can be removed!

Actually, in this article I want to show several options for how you can solve the problem of too quiet sound on devices running on Android.

So...

Note! By the way, if you have a weak sound only when playing some multimedia files (and in other situations everything is fine), I would recommend trying alternative audio-video players first: //ocomp.info/videopleer-dlya-android.html

Ways to increase the volume on Android

Using the settings menu

I want to start with the elementary, despite possible objections ... (it's just that there is a little confusion with this, so it's clearly worth noting).

Volume control in Android (when you press the side buttons on the phone case) can be carried out both for a specific application separately and globally (general volume). For example, if you watch a video and turn up the sound, then the volume will be increased specifically in this application, the call volume will not increase from this!

Volume buttons (classic Android phone)

In general, for detailed sound settings on Android devices, you need to open the parameters, section "Sounds and notifications" and then move the slider to the right for the required line (for example, you can change the volume of ringtone, notifications, music, video, alarm, etc.). See screenshot below.

Ringtone, alarm clock, etc. (adjust volume on Android)

With the help of specials. applications

Because the problem of low volume is quite popular, many developers have released specials. applications that can use some of the "hidden" capabilities of your device. In principle, for their work (as a rule) you do not need root rights, so you can use it without fear of "spoiling" something in the settings ...

Volume Booster GOODEV

Volume Booster GOODEV

A simple free application that will help increase the sound of the phone speaker (or headphones). Can be used when watching movies, listening to audio books, music.

Note that before using the application, it is recommended to unscrew the system sound slider by 100% (and then boost ...).

Developer warning: be careful! Increasing the volume can damage the device speaker (or your hearing). Carry out the addition in small steps (testing each change), without sudden jerks to the maximum!

Sound booster

Sound Booster app settings

Sound Booster differs from other applications of this kind in that it processes sound even before it reaches the sound card (i.e. acts as a kind of intermediary). Of course, with the help of this technology, it is possible to increase the volume in any other applications, games, while listening to music, watching movies, etc.

The application allows you to increase the sound up to 500% of the original level! Recommendation: do not add immediately to the maximum, go in small steps, testing each addition ...

It is also worth noting that a special is built into the application.filter that helps to eliminate hiss and jitter of the sound track, after its processing and amplification. In general, I recommend you to get acquainted!

Screen from application developers

Another free and very simple application for amplifying sound on Android devices (I note that this application is completely in Russian, which pleases).

Of course, like its counterparts, it allows you to adjust the sound when playing media files (music, video, etc.), audiobooks, etc. It supports both headphones and system sound.

Using the engineering menu

Android smartphones have a hidden engineering menu, which is used by developers for final testing of the device (including fine-tuning the sound). As a rule, the device is never tuned to maximum volume, and a potential reserve of 20-30% (sometimes more) remains.

Those. if you go into this engineering menu yourself and make "small" manipulations, you can significantly increase the volume of the phone.

I note that for this procedure, root rights are not needed (which means the risk of spoiling something is reduced), but I still urge you to be careful and change only those parameters that you know ...

Entrance to the engineering menu

To do this, you must enter a special. the code. Each device (depending on the manufacturer and model) may have its own. I have collected some popular options in the table below (if your device is new, you may need to refer to its instructions, official website of the manufacturer).

Code entry example

Note: enter the codes at your own peril and risk (despite the fact that they are collected, including from official sources from manufacturers).

ManufacturerThe code
Samsung, ZTE* # * # 4636 # * # * or * # * # 8255 # * # *
Acer*#*#2237332846633#*#*

BQ*#*#83781#*#*
Smartphones based on MTK processor* # * # 3646633 # * # * or * # * # 54298 # * # *

Entering engineering (sometimes called service) menu, open the "Audio" section (the "Hardware Testing" tab). Next, pay attention to a few points (see screen below):

  1. Normal Mode - normal (general) volume level;
  2. Headset Mode - the level responsible for working with headphones, headsets, etc .;
  3. LoudSpeaker Mode - speakerphone setting;
  4. Headset_LoudSpeaker Mode - speakerphone mode with a headset;
  5. Speech Enhancement - the level responsible for the talk mode (without a headset).

Enter the desired menu (in my example, Normal Mode).

Audio Mode

Then select the Type "media" (ie the volume of the media).

In the Level column, select each of the 14 levels in turn (you need to click everything) and increase the "Value" (by 15 points, for example) and "Max. Vol" (up to 155-160). By the way, "Max. Vol" cannot be higher than 160.

I note that after setting the numbers - click on the button Set (translation: install / ask).

Setting values for volume levels (clickable)

Note: in the "Type" column, you can specify Sph (this is the sound of the spoken speaker).

To adjust the volume of an incoming call in the "Audio" section, open "LoudSpeaker Mode", and in the "Type" column set "Ring". Further, by analogy with the example above.

After setting the settings, exit the engineering menu and restart the phone. In such a simple way, it is possible to raise the volume by 15-20% (and more).
